4 Ways To Kick-Start Your Mornings
Morning is a great time to get things done – Your batteries are fully charged after a night of rest and you’re likely to have less interruptions that at other times of the day. We know that our customers are busy people, so in today’s post we’d like to offer you 4 habits to make your mornings more productive.
1. Track Your Time
To improve your time management, you’ve first got to have a base to improve on. So, you need to make a short note of what you’re doing. If you take an entire week, writing down everything that you do, in blocks, you can clearly see where and how you’re spending your time; and where you’re misusing it. Next, you need to divide this time into productive and non-productive time. The goal here is to see to what extent you’re meeting your goals in the morning and if this time is not optimized to see if this is the result of miss-managed time elsewhere.
2. Visualize a Perfect Morning
Now, try asking the question, ͞what would a perfect morning look like͟. Perhaps it begins with a family breakfast, or maybe some exercise. Do you envision making an early start on a long term project? It’s well worth while taking some time to visualize the perfect morning, not just as a whole, but to consider what elements make it up, and then you can set about achieving it. It’s important to picture the ideal morning, and then work at achieving it, one element at a time.
3. Make it a Habit
The step that will make a change permanent is making it a habit; it’s thus the most crucial step and the one that requires a serious commitment of will power. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help with the process, here are a few ideas: Give yourself time and space to make the changes. By going to bed and getting up 15 minutes earlier you’ll give yourself a little breathing space in the early days when you’re trying to implement the changes. Try and take one bad habit and replace it with a better one and make changes in small, manageable steps. The overall goal is to avoid over challenging yourself. You should only work on one new habit at a time. Try and really make it stick before moving on to something new. This is about long term improvement, not massive shocks to the system. Finally, make sure that for each small victory you give yourself a reward. Perhaps a trip to a restaurant with your family, or some new clothes, it is important that you stay motivated and this is a great way to achieve that.
4.Test and Adjust
Don’t think that all changes will necessary be in the right direction or will be beneficial. By adjusting your efforts you can achieve that goal of productivity with less effort. Mornings are a new start and hopefully you now have the tools to shape yours to be perfect.
